Brians G-Netik 8.0 Senior Goalie Leg Pads

The engineers at Brian’s redoubled their efforts to  create a high quality and affordable leg pad.  The G-Netik 8.0 offers a flat-faced pad with awesome durability.  The ease of use is at the forefront, and Brian’s “Smart Strap” design is one of, if not the best in the industry.  Goalies can easily strap on the G-Netik 8.0 without worry that the pad will shift during gameplay.

The look of the G-Netik 8.0 varies from all previous G-Netik pads because it now has a flat face design instead of incorporating the traditional knee rolls.  The flat face design has caused a bit of confusion between the Sub-Zero line and the new 2017 G-Netik lines.  Even though the look is very similar between the two pads, the way they play is completely different.  The G-Netik line still plays like a softer, hybrid style pad with a lot of flexibility and lateral flex.  The Sub-Zero line is a much stiffer face that is used more by the coverage (butterfly) style goalie.  The Sub-Zero does not have near the amount of flexibility that the G-Netik line has. We feel that is is important to understand the differences in the two lines so the potential customer can choose the appropriate pad for their playing style Brian’s G-Netik 8.0 series offers a more affordable option without compromising quality spec’s.  The G-Netik 8.0 pads feature an external double knee break for increased flexibility.  This shuts down the 5-hole more easily.  The stock Smart Strap system comes standard, but the pads provide the option of using traditional leather belts.  Brian’s takes advantage of the maximum IIHF size for the knee block.  This elevates the goaltender in the butterfly while limiting stress on the lower body.

High Mid-Level Goal Pads Vs. Lower Mid-Level Pads

Mid-level goalies leg pads can be broken down into a higher and lower level. The upper mid-level goalie pads resemble a pro pad very closely and have a high quality rating when it comes to the materials used. Although not entirely on par with a pro level goalie leg pad, the upper mid-level goal pad could easily be used by a upper echelon goalie who plays 3 to 5 days a week. For the most part the upper mid-level goalie pads will have a very similar feel to the pro goal pad. As for the lower mid-level goalie leg pads, the differences in foam and materials can be noticeable. These lower mid-level goal pads are generally in the $ 350 to $ 600 dollar price range. There are no safety issues or functional issues with this level pad, only a durability issue. These pads are meant to be used 1 to 3 times a week, anything more would cause the pad the break down quicker than anticipated. The lower mid-level goal pad is a great choice for the recreational goalie or the goalie who is in the midst of a growth period. Knowing the differences in the higher and lower mid-level goal pad enables the goalie to choose the product that is best for their individual needs.
